That was close!

Just wait, soon we will have some clown at an F1 race trying to get a
bird’s eye view. Judging by their inability to keep strolling fans off the
track I am betting on Singapore.

Wow. You mean there is RISK to using some new technologies? Who'd have
thought. Lets control it. Lets BAN it. Americans once didn't think that way,
back when the U.S. was the greatest, most innovative country on Earth.

I think the air must be getting to you up there North of the border.

Haven't you heard of the many instances where drones have gotten
way too close to air liners that were taking off or landing?

which instances are those? there have been some drone sightings by
pilots but none close enough to cause a problem.

There are a lot of inventions that wouldn't have emerged as fast as
they did if the nanny state existed back when they were developed.

Lawn darts.

You mean the way that red flag laws impeded the development of
the automobile?

There have been "nanny state" laws of one sort or another for
a very long time.

Chopper at DFW took one in the pilot's windshield and had to be landed by
the co-pilot.

It's only a matter of time before one gets ingested in an engine or a
cockpit window.

one instance? that's it?

now tally up how many plane crashes have there been for other reasons,
such as pilot error, maintenance issues, atc mistakes and intentional
acts.

It's only a matter of time before one gets ingested in an engine or a
cockpit window.

birds pose a much greater danger.

How many times are you going to bring up the obvious? No one's
disputing that birds pose a much greater danger.

yet they keep focusing on drones which pose almost no danger.

Those who support registration feel that one instance is one too many
if it can be prevented. Those who support registration feel that it's
a step to preventing a problem.

those people don't understand risk management.

they also don't understand that registration is a voluntary program
with no enforcement which won't stop someone intent on causing
problems.

I don't think it's an effective step, but my head isn't spinning
around like yours about it.

my head isn't spinning at all.
