Kowa Super 66-Film back and lens malfunction
I recently got my hands onto a Kowa Super 66 set, which I might return if I
can't figure out this problem. I'm having problems releasing the back of the body. The button on the side will depress and I can feel it move in the body but as hard as I try I cannot get that back off of there. Furthermore, the button release for the lens will not depress at all and therefore I remove my lens. THis is becoming truly frustrating because you never have to force this much on a camera. someone help me please. |

I don't know that camera, but do you need to insert a dark slide to remove the back? Are the body and lens out of sync (shutter cock?). -- -- r.p.e.35mm user resource: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- r.p.d.slr-systems: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpdslrsysur.htm -- [SI] gallery & rulz: http://www.pbase.com/shootin -- e-meil: Remove FreeLunch. -- usenet posts from gmail.com and googlemail.com are filtered out. |

Are the body and lens out of sync (shutter cock?). -- The Super 66 has a small button on the left side of the back located at the very front in front of the film spool support knob. Press it and remove the back. This feature was added in case the body jammed, a not uncommon problem. Normally you would mount a cocked lens to a wound (cocked) body. With both cocked the magazine is easy to remove. A word of caution. DO NOT force the wind knob. If the knob feels tight STOP and have the system looked at. |

The Kowas were never too good for quality control. Get your money back. |
