Metering light
w apparently said:
If the average caucasian palm is 1 stop lighter than 18% grey, should you not decrease exposure by 1 stop after metering palm? The orignal post ask if you would read palm and then open 1 stop. The original post was correct. The caucasian palm is brighter than 18% gray, but the meter assumes it IS 18% gray with lots of light on it, and so reduces the exposure to make it become 18% on the film. You open a stop to put it back where it belongs. |
