Default Windows 10 Experience

Over the weekend I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. It's a
painless experience and went without a hitch. All my apps carried
over and opened OK.

However, went I tried to use the Develop module in Lightroom, and
tried to edit in CC 2015, things hung up with that "Not responding"
message. Every time. The Library module in LR worked fine.

Just to be clear, I *think* it was a graphics card driver but never
really determined that this was the problem with LR and PS, or that
this was the only problem. I didn't bother to re-install either app.
Because 10 was nothing special otherwise, I didn't pursue a solution
beyond a few steps.

I found that one program needed a re-install, and one other needed its
licence key re-entering. You might try either. MyY notes:

Been running Win-10 on various PCs for between several months and
several weeks (as upgrades) now, and seen no reason at all to revert to
Win-7 or Win-8. The best Windows so far for me.

I have no experience with 8, so I can't compare 8 to 10, but found no
real advantage to 10 over 7. If there's something better about 10,
then either I missed it or it's something I don't have an interest in
doing.

With the exception of my PS/LR problem, I found nothing worse about
10, though.

Windows-10 is supported until 2025, whereas Windows-7 only until 2020
(both end of extended support), so you get five years more lifetime from
the free upgrade. Windows-7 is already out of mainstream support (ended
13 Jan 2015).

I've also found that number of minor niggles with Win-7 have been fixed
in Win-10 after the upgrade. Give Adobe time to fix their problems, and
the Win-10 upgrade will then be an obvious choice.

No need to rush.

that's minor, as win7 still gets security updates. however in 5 years
it will be an issue.

it may not be adobe's problem. like most companies, adobe has testing
with win10 all along. that doesn't mean everything is perfect but it's
not like win10 is a surprise.

No need to rush.

true.

Right now Win7 is working fine for me.
