Default SanDisc problem

My 256 card seems to have failed. SanDisc sez they will replace it but I
have to provide a code printed on the side of the card. It turns out the
card, sold to me by a very reputable dealer in September, was
manufactured in 2000, and other cards in the shop made that year did not
have code on the side. Subsequent years do.

SanDisc keeps asking me for the code. I keep telling them there isn't
one. Anybody have experience with this, or ideas that can help me.?I
assume it isn't counterfeit.

Thanks.

Interesting... I can't help you but your post made me look at a two 1024
Kingston's I recently purchased two months ago. One has the markings on the
side, one doesn't......hmmmm?
