Default Batch EXIF and IPTC editor/processor?

Hi:

I am looking for a good processor, which could modify/add
EXIF or IPTC data to *.jpegs. For example, the copyright
string or the camera name for film scanned images.

Command line "Unix like" interface with file wildcards
most welcomed!

Thanks,

Thomas
