Point and shoot digitals with remote shutter???

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot in the way of P&S digital cameras that have remote wired or wireless shutter release capability. I know that the Canon G10 supports a wired remote, and while I would love to get a pair of them and the remote shutter releases, they are pricey. I was hoping for something more like = $250 each. I would prefer a relatively recent camera (within 1-2 years of now/ 2009) with good image quality and controls and with good video quality at 640x480 @ 30Hz. I already own a Canon SD850IS, which is a great little point and shoot (but not remote options Suggestions? I guess I could cobble together something like these, but I don't like the idea of a manual cable release pushing on both shutter buttons: http://eosdoc.com/manuals/?q=CableRelease http://www.instructables.com/id/Hummingbird-Shooter/ Please excuse all of the resident moron pretend-photographer trolls that live in these newsgroups who refused to answer your question. They are too afraid to admit to some simple free software and inexpensive P&S cameras that blow-away anything that their imaginary dslr's can do. They all know about this simple solution, they just don't want to admit to its existence because it proves everything that they blindly believe to be 100% wrong. Check out http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page for all 39 models of inexpensive P&S cameras that will do exactly what you want. Also check out the dedicated SDM (stereo-data-maker) version of CHDK that was designed specifically for shooting stereo-pairs, with sync speeds up to 1/20,000th of a second between cameras. http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/index.htm A high-resolution high-speed-sync stereo photography setup of matched camera-pairs can be had for around $200, camera choice dependent. Be glad that someone other than the newsgroup resident-trolls happened to stop by to answer your question correctly. Those who know anything about photography left these newsgroups long ago. All that's left on usenet are those who are now living out a "photographer" fantasy in their basement living role-playing lives. It's all they've got left. I send them my pity. |
