Sharpest shirt pocketable camera
"asdf3b" wrote in message oups.com... Greetings! Which is the sharpest shirt pocketable camera available now which takes SD card? With thanks. Any major brand of shirt-pocketable camera should be sharp enough for the purposes to which such a camera is likely to be put -- "sharpest" depends on a number of other factors besides camera model, and is not necessarily what should be the most important factor to the buyer anyway. Check your local stores (including Wal-Mart, which generally has a nice selection and at very good prices) to see which camera models you like the size and feel of. Then look up reviews of those models on some site such as www.steves-digicams.com or www.dpreview.com to see what they have to say about them. The reviews may seem quite complex to you and contain far more information than you feel able or willing to absorb, but that is the nature of digital cameras. If you don't want to be bothered reading the reviews, then just pick any major brand of camera (Nikon, Canon, Kodak, etc.) that you like the looks and feel of and buy that. It will probably give you perfect satisfaction at least until such time as you know more about digital cameras and have formed some definite ideas about what you want in such a camera. Avoid Olympus and Fujifilm models -- not because there's anything wrong with those brands, but because they use the goofy xD-Picture card which is not what you want. *Any* other major brand will use the SD card that you do want. [re high quality image from an ultra compact camera that uses SD] Kind of a broad question, but the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30 is one to consider: http://imaging-resource.pricegrabber...terid=33258711 This is one of the few compact models that offers image stabilization, and it will make use of your SD card. -- Mike Russell - www.curvemeister.com |

What about Sony and their 'goofy' Memory Sticks? That's how Sony has talked me out of several purchases of Sony products - even after memories of the computer security intrusion thing died out. -- PeteCresswell |

What about Sony and their 'goofy' Memory Sticks? Sony's M(emoryprotection) S(cheme) flash memory was always avoided by knowledgeable camera owners. xD cards weren't nearly as bad, but even if one wants to avoid them, it's not necessary to avoid all Olympus and Fuji cameras, since several models have long been available that used dual cards. Some (especially older models) also use CF cards, but some of the newer ones can also use SD cards. So with them, there's no reason to ever have to buy an xD card. |

Greetings! Which is the sharpest shirt pocketable camera available now which takes SD card? With thanks. Hello, My Kodak V603 is very pocketable and attractive. Its 6 megapixel resolution and 3x optical zoom both contribute to the quality of its photos, which I find rather pleasing to view, both on my monitor screen and in Wal-Mart prints. (By the way, the vast majority of today's compact cameras use SD cards.) Good luck! Cordially, John Turco |

Sharpest shirt pocketable camera
Greetings ASDF3B,
I just gave my Girlfriend a V603 and she loves it. She is a non technical woman but with discriminating taste (she is with me after all). She does like the camera and it does an excellent job with sharpness and detail. She could not be more happy. I have found the images to be excellent as well. Panoramic feature is pretty cool too. The camera I am looking at for myself is the V705. Lots of features and it has internal lenses - 5X optical zoom without extending a lens. Can fit in your pocket no matter what. Talk to you later.
