Positive Experience with KEH Repair Center

I've had problems with them in the past, some with service, some with the
personnel, and I posted as much in these groups in response to other
people's questions. The last time I did, someone from KEH responded and
said, give us another try, we've overhauled our repair center, so just
recently I have. I sent in a Nikon 17-35mm f2.8 which would no longer zoom
(first the zoom ring stuck, and then one pinging sound later, rotated
freely), and a 65mm f4.5C Mamiya Sekor lens whose shutter would no longer
fire. I sent them in on Saturday of last week and got them back today, nine
days later. Cost was $250 including shipping and any parts (surely the
pinging thing needed replaced?). Before sending it to KEH, I called Midwest
Camera Repair and asked for a quote. They told me the Nikon was $300, and
what was the other lens again, they asked? I said, never mind.

(Oh, and both lenses seem to be working great--still have to put film
through the RB67, but the 17-35 is happily wedded to my D200.) (They
cherried 'em up fer me, too. Very clean.)
