Portra 100T - contast ?
I have searched the web and come up with all kinds of data/specs on the
product but no info specificically on whether 100T is a LOW contrast film or not ? Or perhaps what it is most comparable or similar to. Is it for example similar to Portra 160NC ? thanks frank |

sometimes you just have to shoot a roll of each and make your own judgement.

Look at the slope of the characteristic curve. Steeper slope = higher
contrast. |

Thanks, but that only makes sense if you are 1/2 way familiar with film
curves. Or have a curve to compare it to perhaps - here's the link to it's curve - what do you think it "means" http://www.kodak.com/global/en/profe...2468/f009_0154 ac.gif "Michael A. Covington" wrote in message ... Look at the slope of the characteristic curve. Steeper slope = higher contrast. |

That's exactly the idea -- compare the curves of two films. The one that
slopes more steeply has higher contrast. How to read these curves is no mystery. Kodak has a number of data books that tell you. They mainly explain black-and-white film curves; from there it's pretty obvious how color film curves work. |
