Thanks for all of your comments.

I'm not going to buy a pig-in-a-poke, though.

I intend to take my camera with me to the telescope store and try to
see how they work together. If they won't let and help me try it,
I will pass on it.

Then maybe I'll use the money to buy a differant type "toy".

Gee I wish I was a moron.

Don't expect miracles if you have to shoot images through a window, it's a no-no for best telescope shots. Most good telescopes will rival the best telephoto images, or exceed them if done correctly.

Thanks for the tip

I only buy if I can test first, or have a right of return. i.e. Last
year I was thinking about buying the Nikon 200 - 500. I liked the
optics. Since I could not carry it around for over an hour, I decided
not to purchase it. For a similar reason I did not purchase the Nikon
600. I fell in love with that lens, but because of its weight, would not
use it very much. I could not justify the cost.

Difficult to do correctly however. The resolution and optics may be
excellent but camera shake through a telescope is magnified
exponentially and that is often the limiting factor.
