Wanted: Schneider lens cap 58mm
I have a Schneider 240 that has no lens cap for the back element, which
is a major hassle. Does anyone have a spare cap? It appears to be 58mm. Thanks, Alistair photo (at) alistair (dot) com |

Wanted: Schneider lens cap 58mm
Schneider USA will sell caps for their lenses, at least they have sold
several to me over the years. "Alistair Calder" wrote in message news:OOPnc.32119$LA4.31521@edtnps84... I have a Schneider 240 that has no lens cap for the back element, which is a major hassle. Does anyone have a spare cap? It appears to be 58mm. Thanks, Alistair photo (at) alistair (dot) com |

I have a Schneider 240 that has no lens cap for the back element, which is a major hassle. Does anyone have a spare cap? It appears to be 58mm. B&H photo/video has 'm for $5.95 made by Kaiser. But you MUST order them at TWO mm larger than your caliper reading. The reason is that the size that stated on the cap, same as stated on the website, is the exact same size as the lens rim itself which is too small to fit "around" the rim. I know because I ordered them at my caliper reading, then returned them and decided to get them @ two mm bigger and it worked perfectly, nice and snug. Cheap shipping from B&H too. Kaiser needs to get it right because it was really frustrating for the time wasted and resulting telephone work. Alex |

This may not be true with the Schneider caps. Kaiser needs to get it right because it was really frustrating for the time wasted and resulting telephone work. B&H could also say so on the site.
