Look more closelyg. I'm quite sure that's a 6x9. I don't own a 6x9 folder,
but it sure doesn't look like my 6x6 Isolette...

It is mislabelled. It is an Ikonta C (523/2). 6x9 format.

Actually the spreader mechanism of the 6x6 Ikontas/Nettars should look
similar to that of the Isolettes. All 6x9 Ikontas have that slotted
guide rails you can see on the pics.

No, it's not common because they never did it! It's a 6X9 as the 6X6's front
door opens down, not sideways. The other giveaway, besides the 105mm lens,
is the bellows isn't square. All the 6X6 and 6X4.5 had some sort of 75 or
80mm lens depending on who made it and when.

It most likely has a 6x6 insert. Many 6x9 filders have two red windows and a
6x6 insert for both 6x6 and 6x9 shooting.

Zeiss-Ikon generally switched between 6x9 and 6x4.5. Other camera
makers allowed users to switch from 6x9 to 6x9. I don't believe
Zeiss-Ikon is one of them (leaving open the possibility that I could
be wrong about this).

It appears that Zeiss-Ikon abandoned the user-insertable mask at some
point. I have no idea of why they dropped it, but it seems common to
see the early 6x9 cameras without the mask, even though the camera has
two windows on the back.
