I have a photographic advice column in a local community newspaper.

Rossmoor Times. Big fish in tiny pond.

I'm
going to post some of the letters I receive, and my responses, to
rec.photo.digital.

The blind leading the blind.

This is too funny.

You attack him personally, yet what he says in that article is
spot-on.

John has a _very_ long Usenet history. He has spammed group after group
with this kind of thing. He'll be proven wrong, but he simply can never
give up and gracefully admit his error. He continues to spam one of the
alt.cellular groups with a charter he wrote for a completely different
group, even though hundreds of users have politely (and sometimes not
politely) requested that he cease his behavior.

He's now moved on to disrupt rec.photo.digital. The best advice is to do
what everyone in the alt.cellular groups have done....

Easy answer, let SMS supply the name of the publication in question and
post a photocopy of the article.

Type "Cupertino Courant" into Google's search box, then click on "I'm
Feeling Lucky."

It's just a local e-newspaper that one of my friend's puts together and
e-mails to about 15,000 local residents every week. I help him out
occasionally with some content in the technology area.

I think it's a good article. Keep it up!

Thank you.

Actually, while it's mildly amusing at alt.cellular.cingular, at least
the charter actually applies to that group. It's when he posts the
alt.cellular.cingular charter to groups that it doesn't apply to when
people attack him the most.

At least he's now limited his posts to the cellular group to repeatedly
spamming the charter and the nonsense about the Motorola travel charger.
He left the cellular groups in shame after he was proven wrong on a
plethora of subjects.

You'll need to change "John" to "Steven" for this to be accurate.

SMS, do everyone a favor. Go out and actually buy a camera. You've proved time

Excellent advice.

And you accuse others of being camera bigots? Funny.

What did that have to do with cameras? Answer: nothing.

My question for anyone is, what the heck is so special about a
Motorola travel charger that differing opinions about it can generate
such angst among usenet users? :-)

Probably much the same answer as to the question, what the heck is so
special about a compact digital camera that differing opinions about it
can generate such angst among usenet users? :-)

John, you're the one making all the personal attacks against others.

There is one and only one person that's I've characterized personally,
and it's not only tit-for-tat, but well-deserved.
Funny how you're not calling him on it.
Oh wait ... I forgot about your bias.
"Nothing more to see here, folks, move along."
