Slightly OT--just received my 8000ED
Yes, I replaced my aging Acer ScanWit 2720s with a Nikon Factory Demo 8000ED
(got a great deal on Ebay). The first thing I must say is, the Acer has been an excellent scanner for the $250 I paid off of Egghead.com. I've made many 13 x 19 prints, and even a few 20 x 30 with Velvia and the ScanWit, that I'm still gonna keep on my walls! Having said that, the 8000ED is a cut above. In addition to resolving more detail, it is much easier to produce an image that needs little to no post processing in Photoshop. This is not true of the Acer (now called BenQ). Thus I'm already saving lots of time rescanning all the old images... ;-) -- Regards, Matt Clara www.mattclara.com |
