Any experience with 2.2 GB microdrive to use with Canon 20D ? how fast is
writing RAW files or is worth it at all to use one like this ? Thanks for
any comments .

I don't like Microdrives, as they are fragile. I have seen too many dropped
and rendered useless.

Just stop and think of all the things that are used in the course of a
normal day that if dropped and made useless. Does that mean we don't
use them or are more carefull? Like what about the camera they go
into, that's not less fragile?
I happen to use 2 4G ones with no problems, even dropped one once.

Why risk using a microdrive when flash memory is getting cheaper by the week
and far more reliable ?

I flooded my D70 whilst diving. D70 is a write off but the flash memory
still works.

Dropping a mcrodrive is not always a problem but using them in high humidity
and varying temperatures and altitudes will cause problems sooner or later.

Like a previous poster, I have 2 of the 4 GB Hitachi microdrives, which I
picked up for $139 each (after rebates). Been alternating them and using
them for about 3 months with no problems. When I purchased them, a 4 GB
compact flash card would have cost $299 - $379 each (depending on write
speed). I do handle them with care and I imagine that they are more fragile
than the compact flash cards, but they gave me the best bang for the
buck----- sure, if funds were unlimited, I would have gone for the Sandisk
Extreme 4 GB (I think they are available now for about $429).

I have a 1G Hitachi microdrive and for most purposes it's just fine. I
ended up buying a 1G solid state Compact Flash for the primary reason
that preview is so much faster. When you're shooting sporting events
and you take lots of shots and only have time for quick reviews then
the microdrive is too slow.

Regards, Travis
