Sony P100 vs W1
I am debating between the Sony DSC-P100 and the DSC-W1. These cameras
are so similar it is difficult to choose between them. The W1 is shorter than the P100, but taller, and has a larger screen. Are there any important differences between the two other than shape factor? |

Are there any important differences between the two other than shape factor? They're pretty close but the W1 uses standard-size batteries; which would be important if you needed more power. I went back and forth between the two before I decided on the P100 because the battery life on the P100 is pretty good (Sony quotes 360 images per charge and a playback time of 180 minutes). I wasn't impressed with the larger screen on the W1. It had fewer pixels than the P100 and was almost 40% bigger so the screen wasn't as sharp as the P100. So with a sharper screen and a smaller form factor, I got the P100. Still learning how to use it, but so far so good. I love the speed of the machine; it's a little rocket. |

I'm thinking about the W1 because I want a viewfinder. I find it hard to
compose my ahots with just the screen. Carol -- C and A Bredt "Steven" wrote in message . .. I am debating between the Sony DSC-P100 and the DSC-W1.
