Laser photo printers
I am fed up with my inkjet printed photos fading away after some time, so I want to change to a colour laser printer. Does anyone know a bit about these? Is my assumption true that the photos last longer? Shouldn't cost more than £4-500.
Thank you! Last edited by Peter (the non-dig chap) : September 17th 06 at 04:24 PM. |

From side by side comparisons I would say wait. Also Google Henry
Wilhelm, he has done tests on print longevity of major printer brands and the results are surprising. darkroommike Peter (the non-dig chap) wrote: I am fed up with my inkjet printed photos fading away after some time, so I want to change to a colour laser printer. Does anybody knows a bit about these? Thank you! I have an HP color Laser printer. It does a nice job of making prints. I would say that the appearence is similar to that of a color photo in the Sunday newspaper magazine section. I don't consider it to be photo-quality, but for snapshots it's reasonable. As for fading/permanence, I can't say. But it's nice that the colors don't run when the paper gets wet. Also, with a good quality paper, it was a similar look to a matte or luster surface photo.
