As celluloid film drove out glass plates. Tempus fugit.

BTW, I remember when all Kodachrome was ASA (ISO) 8. When it went to ASA 10,
we saw it as a significant improvement. When it went to 25, we thought it was
as much progress as the yokelry could absorb in one century. Then came
Ektachrome 32, ...

Anybody else old enough to remember when Popular Photography ran a story by a
guy who strapped on his Rolleiflex, went down into the NY subway, and took
pictures there in COLOR?
