I see that you conveniently ignore reality.

You haven't given any counterexamples.

it seems that you think that the radical Islamists really don't mean
wha they say when they claim that their terrorist acts are commanded
by their god.

No more so than Fundamentalist Christians.

BTW, you might check on what's going on in France, that "insightful"
country who wants to let terrorists get by.

I try to follow the world as a whole, including France.

Then you can enlighten us on why Frencgh nationals are being held by
Islamic radicals.

They are trying to persuade the French government to change a law, last
time I heard. School is now starting, so the law will be applied for
the first time.

I guess you didn't see it on CNN, then.

I don't watch CNN.

I do.

Modern media tend to indoctrinate people with the mistaken belief that
they are somehow uninformed or at a disadvantage if they don't know all
the bad news from everywhere in the world, but this is not actually the
case. The average person is completely unaffected by events elsewhere
in the world, and has no influence over them; and so whether or not he
knows of their occurrence is actually of no importance at all, and he
loses nothing by remaining ignorant of them.

Obviously you are, from your answer above.

I don't pay attention to most world events, for the reasons stated
above. I've never responded to the indoctrination of the media.

Think so?

I'm certain of it.

Then why are French nationals being held by terrorists, with death
threats aganst them?

Because there are a few people opposed to a law passed in France that
bans the obvious display of religious attire in schools. I wouldn't
call an isolated incident representative, though.

Is France supporting Israel? I don't think so.

Different groups have different motivations for their acts. In the case
of Muslim or Arab terrorists threatening the USA, it's almost always
related to the extremely lopsided and unconditional support of the USA
for Israel.

The French have a horrid history of Catholic-Protestant slaughter.
(For instance, Google "Saint Bartholomew's Day Massacre", 1572).

It seems to me that becasue of this, just like the US reaction to
state-sponsered religion was to put the Establishment Clause into our
constitution, the French reaction to thier domestic violence and
attempt to be fair is by banning significant displays of religion in
public, to allow everyone the freedom to practice in private.
Different strokes for different folks.

It conflicts with groups that _require_ public display. That's what's
going on. The French are _trying_ to integrate mulsems into the
general public. While a couple of French Muslem leaders have been
noisy, I find it interesting the the most obnoxious ones are outside
France. Remeber that the French have a long history of integration
with French N. Africa. They want to get along, mostly.

I've been watching this thread waiting for someone to say what's the
current issues are. Nobody known that. I guess knowing the history is
t, aslo is much to ask.

Doesn't anyone here read the news ? I know Fox News doesn't tell you
about what's really happening. I recommend the movie _Outfoxed_.

The scarry thing is that half of these people vote.

It is now over 1,030 Americans... Thousands when you count the
non-Americans.
This puts a face on the loss: http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/091004W.shtml

you are right, the president can not go to war without a majority vote

understand why he decided to lie to them, the american people, the

united
nations, and the rest of the world, and dragged the good name of this
country and the highest office in the land down into the gutter.

murdering
thousands of americans as a result of his lies, and maiming countless

other
servicemen and women that you rarely hear about, not to mention the
foreigners that have been killed. and yet the republicans try to

impeach
clinton over a blowjob.

Had Bill Clinton done his job in 93 when terrorists struck the towers
instead of getting a blowjob, those thousands killed would still be
here..and so would the towers..

Not to defend Bush but I doubt he lied and where did you get the
thousands murdered by him from??

When making accusations you need to present proof..afterall our
Constitution says innocent till proven guilty..

if you want to be technical, i guess you are right, you are going to have

to
wait about a month for the body count of us soldiers to reach a 1,000.
currently about 27 shy (not including deaths caused by today's blast in
kabul). but the maimed are over four times that number. and if you read

the
paper you should not have missed that once convincing sounding statements
have proven to be completely without merit.
