Generic batteries for 300D
"nitzsche" wrote in message
om... Does anyone have any thoughts on BP-511 battery clones? This site seems to have them for sale at a very cheap price, but I'm skeptical: http://store.yahoo.com/sterlingtek/l...11-dlc511.html I haven't had any problems with any of the clones that I have and I'm a heavy shooter/user (schools/seniors) getting thru at least 1 or 2 fully charged batteries a day per camera body. They seem to last just as long as the proprietry batteries supplied by Canon. |

Generic batteries for 300D
I use E-film batteries for my D30 (BP-511) with no problems, so far. $20
cheaper than Canon's version. -- Skip Middleton http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com "Sabineellen" wrote in message ... Point one, proprietary batteries are way overpriced, so don't be suprised if you see the clones sold for very cheap, 'cos i don't think the proprietary cost much to make anyway. OTOH, All i can say is beware. Some generic batteries for mobile phones exploded and caused injury, and while i don't expect same to happen to you, just be aware that many of those generic ones are made at very low level of quality and safety, either to you or your equipment. |

Generic batteries for 300D

Charles writes: I've seen references to the BP 511 and BP 512. what's the difference? One metric, perhaps? Electrically they're the same. The BP512 has a flat back on its case, apparently to make it look prettier when mounted (externally) on a video camera. If both fit your camera, they should work equally well. I have both for my 300D and never realized that until you pointed it out.
