Which camera for model boat construction pics?
I want to take pics as I build a model boat, to put on a webpage. I'm
not a serious camera buff. Thanks, Ted in Mich. |

"mark" wrote in message ... Depending on how much you want to spend and how good a job you want to do the only realy camera is a view camera with swings & tilts. Photographs will be taken with a high degree of manification and Depth of field is very narrow. Swing and tilts allow you to use maximize the ability to keep the film plane parrallel to the subject while view lenses can have more depth of field by stopping down to 1/64th or even 1/128th. I can not see how this answers his question. He clearly states that he is not "a serious camera buff" and I know from years of use of view cameras this would not be a good answer for him, especially if he were to want to go straight digital with no intermediate scans. And costs, come on now consider what a red dot Artar or similar lens alone would cost. Oh yes was it to be mounted in a shutter? "Ted W Lee" wrote in message ... One person suggested a one use digital as the least expensive way to go,
or a low pixel w/o zoom. Thanks, Ted in Mich. |

There are some really inexpensive digitals with macro settings out
there. Look for a Fuji 2300 on eBay. Maybe $40 or so, and its macro might be all you need. Here's a shot I took of a small engine flywheel with a sheared - off key. Plenty of detail. http://www.cycleorings.com/crank.JPG This was using a Fuji 2300 handheld. Ted W Lee wrote: I want to take pics as I build a model boat, to put on a webpage. Thanks to all who have made suggestions on which camera to get for the
model boat pics. The Fuji 2300 looks promising. I need Ed (Jack-of-the- Dust) to email me with a good email address. Thanks, Ted. |
