A while ago I saw a rumor that put it in the 2k region, Obviously this is not the case. At 3k I would probably go for Canon or Nikon, but at 2k I might be inclined to take a chance on a FF Sony. Shame it coulda been a contenda.

It is. And it is not plastic either. I'm thinking of holding out until
the price settles from $3k.

3k is my ouch point, ten years ago I said ouch and bought and SQAi
system, At 24 MP I could say ouch again because it negates my SQAi. But
I think I wait on Nikon as I have been say ow recently acquiring some
good Nikon glass.
