Could anyone help me out. On the D70, should the setting be normal on the

medium?

Thanks for any and all help.....

It's up to you but I vote none of the above, shoot RAW/NEF. If you feel
you need to shoot JPG then it's fine/large unless the only place you'll
be displaying your photos is on the web. Disclaimer: I own a DR, not a
D70, I'm assuming that fine/large is the best and largest on the D70.

Shouldn't assume, Nef is present on the D70 as well.

It depends, Raw is the largest File setting.....for a single image.
Fine Jpeg at the large setting yields about a 2.5 mb file and is suitable
for printing perhaps 11x14's. Smaller file settings work nicely for
webstuff etc,,,,like emailing.

It depends on what you want to do with the images after you take them.

The best quality will be with RAW files.

Second best and very good is Jpeg large/fine.

And downwards from there.

You misunderstood. I know the D70 uses NEF, that's why I said "shoot
RAW/NEF". The disclaimer was just specific to shooting jpeg on the D70,
I assume large/fine is the highest quality jpeg on the D70.

He did say that RAW/NEF was preferable; and fine/large was in reference
to JPG output.

Use the normal setting. You will not notice a difference to fine.
