film recommendation for WOCA
Lorem Ipsum wrote: wrote Why people bother with them is a mystery to me. [...] Why don't you get hold of a cheap camera that *is* fit for the purposes of photography? Something like a Nettar. You could have fun getting back to basics, it will fit in your pocket and if used well should give you good results. Oh no ya don't. I see where you are going with that. You want a person to have some CONTROL over the end product! No fun at all. OK, then use an old Russian camera. That way you don't know whether it will stop working at any time or skip frames or the shutter fail to open for half your shots. But at least the lens is likely up to the job for the shots that do come out. BTW - Seen Sally Mann's book, "What Remains"? WOCA, Holga, Oatmeal box, broken lens, whatever ... it's horrible in more ways than one. It's one spendy "statement". If these cameras were small and you found them at the bottom of your breakfast cereal box then it might be a good laugh to put film in one and go out and take pictures just once. But I don't understand anyone who would seek them out for actual use and pay any money for them. |
