epson 2200...print on roll canvas

The FM (as in RTFM) as been no help...I am trying to print a panoramic on a
roll of canvas. I sized the image so that I can wrap it around a plank of
particle board. That means the image size is 13x40. I don't seem to have the
option of going that large for a print size. I am not concerned with it
cutting when finished so the actual size shouldn't matter.

Is there a way to just print it out and cut it by hand? Seems that if I
wanted to print a banner it would be even longer, so I don't see why I
should have a problem.

The Epson 2200 driver is very broken.

Try making a custom paper size of 12.93 x 40. I don't know about the PC
driver, but the OS X driver scales 13.00 inch prints down to 8.50
inches. I've never gotten banner mode to work. Run a test with cheap
paper.

I've printed with the Epson Premier Art Water Resistant Canvas 13" roll paper
on my 4000 but not with my 2200 ... the first problem is you need to define a
"custom" size for the image when using roll paper unless you can use one of the
sheet pre-sets, which you obviously can't for something this wide. I usually
add a couple of inches to the length to leave a margin. This tripped me up the
first time I printed with roll paper. You can find the set-up to do this under
the "user defined" menu in the printer driver for print sizes.

Also, there is a max length for the 2200 prints even on roll paper when using
the Epson driver (with a RIP you can print much longer) but I think it's 44"
for the PC so you should be OK defining a length of say 42". Not sure about
the Mac, at one time IIRC the limit was shorter for one OS or the other (maybe
the newer OS didn't support longer lengths, something like that ... if you're
on a PC you should be fine though).

At least on the 4000 it's recommended (strongly suggested) you do NOT use the
built-in cutter on heavy papers like canvas (or even Ultrasmooth FA) since they
say it won't cut cleanly and will quickly dull the blade ... you just roll out
a bit more paper when the print is done and cut by hand. Probably similar on
the 2200 ...

I think once you catch on to the "user defined" custom sizing requirement
you'll do fine.
