The Kodalk recipe seems odd????
"Larry" wrote in message ... Hello all, I have a recipe for Kodalk: it calls for 0.692 grams of borax and 0.145 grams of NaOH. Apparently it makes a one gram batch of said Kodalk. I added the numbers up and in total this recipe makes only 0.837 grams of said Kodalk. What's up? Am I missing one ingredient? Thanks in advance Larry Kriese The amounts are correct. When mixed in water the result is the equivalent of one gram of sodium tetraborate tetrahydrate. Note that this is identical to the octahydrate specified by Kodak due to a change in the way the hydration is described.
