FA: FIVE lbs. of Sodium Metaborate for PMK Pyro or Divided D-23 Developer
This is a full, 5 lb. bottle of Photographer's Formulary brand Sodium
Metaborate. Kodak calls their Sodium Metaborate "Kodalk," or "Balanced Alkali" and this is how the chemical is designated in many B/W formulas. Sodium Metaborate is the same stuff. Among many other formulas, Sodium Metaborate used in: 1. Gordon Hutchings PMK Staining Developer -- for "Pyro, Metol and Kodalk," practically a religion for many B/W photographers. See numerous discussions of PMK on the web. 2. Ansel Adams' "Divided Compensating Developer." This is basically D-23 for the first developer and Kodalk, (AKA Sodium Metaborate) for the second developer. Adams says "Two solution development can be effective for supporting shadow values while reducing high value densities." The formula and instructions are given in "The Negative." This bottle contains 5 lbs. It has been stored in a dry room and should be good as new, but because it's sealed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7536431928 |
