"Battery life is poor on my new mirrorless!"
You went from a 4000mah DSLR battery to a 1500mah battery. What did you
think would happen?

With most mirrorless cameras there are at least two factors limiting
battery life.

1: Physical size & weight reduction with the resulting capacity loss.

2: The demand placed on the battery by the EVF which is compounded by the
lower capacity.

Fujifilm has provided a solution for the X-T2 by adding two additional
batteries in the accessory battery grip. That grip has some benefits beyond
the shooting capacity, but it comes with the sacrifice if increased bulk
and weight. That sort of defeats some of the benefits of MILC systems.

For now I can expect 300-360 shots from my X-E2 provided I use the power
saving features for reducing LCD use. Most importantly, if I anticipate a
long day shooting I always carry at least one or more spare batteries. On
my current trip I have a total of five. One in the camera and four in
charge rotation.
