Testing a new sunshade
I just got a new threaded generic sunshade for one of my older lenses. To
test it should I just take a photo of the sky and look for dimming in the corners? Using it mostly for protection, but don't want it to clip the image. Sheldon |

If it doesn't show up in the corners there, you're safe at smaller apertures. -- Jeremy | |

One sure way to assure an even distribution of light accross the lens, is to cover the mounted hood with a CLEAN white hanckerchief when pointing at the sky. This will assure an even distribution of light entering the lens. Be sure the camera is in manual mode. |

I did forget, you need to check the lens at infinity. -- Stacey |
