Regarding my anger with you, it's a very simple case of cause and
effect, my friend. You cause a rumpus, the effect is you get flamed.

Grow some thicker skin.

Why should I? Why can't you just be a little less tiresome?

Wait, I know why, because you're Mark Morgan and you're NEVER wrong
and the whole world needs to know that.

Isn't that the truth?

Nope.

I'm often wrong, and often say so.

If it's not small, it won't fit along-side my camera carry-on stuff.
If it's not light, I'll hate carrying it, and it will get left
behind...meaning it would become a waste of money.
If it's not fast, it won't serve the purpose I have for it, which
includes video-card-intensive applications that go beyond mere
in-the-field editing, etc.. If it can't handle the workload...I
wouldn't have enough use for it to justify the purchase.

And just like with cameras, if its plastic case doesn't instill
confidence that it will withstand heavy use on-the-go, it will be left
safe at home.

Perhaps true...depending on how you intend to carry it/do with it.
For the most part, I think the hard drive is more susceptable to damage from
drops than is the housing...

....But no matter in this case, since the one I just ordered is neither
plastic nor metal...
It's case is carbon fiber. -Lighter than plastic or metal...and stronger.
