Do you have a video camera? Film someone with a TV remote control, aimed at the
camera, and have them press some buttons... you may see a flashing light at the
end of the remote, which can't be seen by eye... Depends on the camera sensor,
some can change the IR light from the remote into visible.

Sony had this 'problem' with some of their video cameras. ;-))

Basic, infrared filter. B&W, Hoya make them too.
What you really want instead is a still camera using
a monochrome CCD, a single-element quartz lens
and an infrared filter. Or, just go buy an old Rebel
or D60 and have it modified by Hutech.com
