: : : : :
: : : : : : ...in an earlier post I cited Gamma Photo Labs price of $2.30 to process an E6
: : : : : : sheet of 4X5.
: : : : : : Just stopped by there today to drop off one (1) 120 roll of E6 that was a test
: : : : : : for a job and was informed that there is now a $10 minimum on all orders.
: : : : : : Thus, if you don't have more than five sheets of 4X5 E6, think of an
: : : : : : alternative...
: : : : : : ...not that it's worth putting my own personal E6 line together in my basement
: : : : : : to get around a $10 minimum.
: : : : : : I think that it's just a sign of the times that even commercial labs in major
: : : : : : cities are feeling the pinch of digital.
: : : : :
: : : : : You may want to take a look at Perfect Image in DesPlaines. The last time I was
: : : : : there they were charging $2 a sheet. For E6 they have one hour turn around.
: : : :
: : : : : Reed Photo Imaging. Bob Reed does E6 for some of the most
: : : : : well known chrome photographers in the west. His process is
: : : : : always in control.
: : : :
: : : : : http://www.reedphoto.com/
: : : :
: : : : I just checked on a map and Denver is a long drive from Chicago.
: : :
: : : : Frank, one of these days you are going to have to
: : : : engage your brain before speaking and wasting bandwith.
: : :
: : : You may want to follow that advice. I doubt you will though.
: :
: : : Oh, good, Frank. Keep ****ing in the wind for no reason.
: : : Bob reed does E6 for CA photographers. At least as far as
: : : Chicago.
: :
: : : Any other stupid comments?
: :
: : In an ealier post the OP declined to use the Perfect Image because the Chicago
: : suburb of Des Plaines was to far from his location. The last time I was at the
: : Perfect Image picking up film they recieved film from a photographer in England
: : via a courierSP?. That's even further then the distance from California to Colorado!!
:
: : There's a difference between driving and mailing.
:
: : If you want good processing, send out to a pro lab
: : that actually handles the work of pros.
:
: : Shipping is routine if you live in the sticks.
:
: I thought this was over

: They why keep replying, as if you've contributed to the
: OP? My comment was not only not directed to you, it
: apprently (like most things...) isn't within your sphere
: of photographic understanding...

?? You're talking stupid again.

: and I understand that for people that live in the "sticks"
: shipping is routine. I'm sure that you'll agree that Chicago is a lot of things
: but in the "sticks" isn't one of them. There are also a number of excellent pro
: labs left in the Chicago area that a photorapher can go to. While I'm sure that
: Bob Reed does excellent work. I do know of a number of pro-labs in the Chicago
: area that also do excellent work. There is no need for a photographer in the
: Chicago area to need to send the E6 work to Denver and wait for it to be returned
: rather then bring it to a Pro lab in the Chicago area and get one hour turn around.

: Pray tell, oh Frank the amateur, why professional photographers
: in LA and San Francisco would (do) send their chromes to Denver?

Irrelevent to the conversation at hand since the OP lives in Chicago. The Chicago
area has a number of very capable pro labs.

Frank, YOU'RE the only one making an issue of a
nonexistent issue, not the OP.

So, shut up.
