That's kinda like using a firehose to pump fuel into a lawnmower engine ! Note that USB 2.0 is by far the prevalent interface for peripherals. 512mb Ram on computer. X3 Regards, John S. Shouldn't that read like: using a firehose to syphon gas from a lawn mower? ;-) In article , John wrote: Downloading a CF via Firewire ? Oops...too quick. That is 20 MBps which is 20 megabytes/s. This is 160 Mbps (megabits per second). I believe the Firewire numbers are quoted in megabits. Hence the difference is smaller. The current transfer rate of Firewire is 400 mb/s or 50MB. The difference is in marketing. Regards, John S. Go with Firewire. BTW - When you downoad to a CDROM, it's actually downloading to work space on your hard drive. You just can't see it. After you Burn the CDROM, the files are deleted from the hard drive. And if the CDROM burns to a coaster you have a good opportunity to loose the images. Copy them to a directory on your hard drive first. Regards, John S. Douglas, Photographer - http://www.darkroompro.com Please remove the "_" when replying via email |

In a way that is a good point except I never delete the
images from the CF card with the computer, only in camera. But digital pictures can be lost, I know unfortunately from first hand experience.
