... From: Dallas I agree, we should all wait before jumping in and getting these new cameras. Screw that! I've already ordered my 20D. The quoted delivery time is about 3 weeks. I'll be surprised if I have it by the time I go on vacation (October 9). Hmmm, I thought the D60 was the end-all and be-all! ;-) DPReview forum claims that Wolf's/Ritz is promising Sept. 9th delivery. My store just said sometime in Sept. We'll see, but I know I've got two on the way! -- Skip Middleton http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com |

I'll be REALLY surprised if Canon was able to rush the camera into production so soon. -- http://www.pbase.com/bcbaird/ |

I assure you they've got thousands ready to go as we type here. They actually deliver the goods, unlike some others who like to tease for months or years. (Can you say "Nikon"...or even worse..."Minolta?") |

"columbotrek" wrote in message news:VIWVc.124376$sh.62268@fed1read06... WHO RULES ???? CANON RULES & Nikon DROOLS !!! If what you are looking for is a place to spend your money for bragging rights for a few months, then yes they do rule. But I lived through the last 24 years watching the same thing happen with PCs. I am not impressed with Canon's techno cams for Techno's sake. A virtual arms race for no real reason than a place to spend money. Every few months some incremental improvement. Mostly to get some one to spend money because they are just not happy with last months model any more. Sorry, a 1.6 cropping factor is still not good enough to get me off my film Nikons. I learned my lesson with the PCs. Don't need to learn it again with camera's. Yet here you are on your "PC" instead of your typewriter... |

@goaway.cox.unless.no.crap.net says... Into production???? You mean into the MAIL! Onto the boat, whatever. I'm sure it doesn't take them long to fabricate the final assembly, but some things (CMOS chips, etc.) might take longer to build up to production quantities. This is CANON we're talking about, here.
