CANON stomps Nikon .... Again !!!

I agree, we should all wait before jumping in and getting these new
cameras.

Screw that! I've already ordered my 20D.
The quoted delivery time is about 3 weeks. I'll be surprised if I have it by
the time I go on vacation (October 9).

Hmmm, I thought the D60 was the end-all and be-all! ;-)
DPReview forum claims that Wolf's/Ritz is promising Sept. 9th delivery. My
store just said sometime in Sept. We'll see, but I know I've got two on the
way!

DPReview forum claims that Wolf's/Ritz is promising Sept. 9th delivery. My
store just said sometime in Sept. We'll see, but I know I've got two on the

This is CANON we're talking about, here.
I assure you they've got thousands ready to go as we type here.
They actually deliver the goods, unlike some others who like to tease for
months or years.

If what you are looking for is a place to spend your money for bragging
rights for a few months, then yes they do rule. But I lived through the
last 24 years watching the same thing happen with PCs. I am not
impressed with Canon's techno cams for Techno's sake. A virtual arms
race for no real reason than a place to spend money. Every few months
some incremental improvement. Mostly to get some one to spend money
because they are just not happy with last months model any more. Sorry,
a 1.6 cropping factor is still not good enough to get me off my film
Nikons. I learned my lesson with the PCs. Don't need to learn it again
with camera's.

fabricate the final assembly, but some things (CMOS chips, etc.) might
take longer to build up to production quantities.

How about you try to actually be rational and fair in your statements?
This isn't a Nikon versus Canon thing, it's a manners thing. You're rude,
ignorant and downright nasty to a lot of people concerning their camera
choice. Don't like Canon - fine. I don't expect you to. I expect you to
at least respect other people's choices and not make sweeping statements
with no basis in reality.

Oh yes, before I forget; while we're on the subject of brand bashing, did
it occur to you to read the title of this thread?
