Hello, George:

I haven't seen the image in question, nor do I intend to view it. It
seems that there's heated controversy, concerning the statue's
wholesomeness (or, perhaps, its reputed lack thereof).

There's nothing worth fussing about John. Most people would just see it
as a sculpture, nothing offensive at all.

David

Hello, David:

Okay, I'll take your word for it. :-J

However, if you insist upon dragging North Carolina into this sordid
discussion, then please, beware of Sheriff Andy Taylor and his dreaded
Deputy Officer, Barney Fife. They don't take kindly, to perverts wandering
into their great and hallowed "Tar Heel" state. g

Yankee pervs, especially! :-D

Hello John! Are you talkin' about THIS guy?

Hello, George:

But, of course! That's a highly retouched pic of the hilarious, fish-faced
actor, Jesse Donald Knotts (1924-2006) - hell, he even provided the voice
for a cartoon version of a fish, in "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" (1964) - as
Mayberry, NC's Barney Fife. I'd seen all 32 episodes of the fourth season
(1963-'64) of the "The Andy Grifith Show," back in February (DVD boxed set).

Oh, and do you want to "hear" about a really weird coincidence? Just after
viewing the image you linked to, there appeared in "MailWasher" (anti-spam
program), a garbage message entitled, "Deputy Sheriff Accused of Lewdness."

I soon had MailWasher delete it (along with other junk e-mail), right on
my ISP's (Concentric) mail server, naturally enough.

Cordially,
John Turco
