Tony,

I posted this note on the rangefinderforum.com site today. Any advice?

"The shutter-speed selector on my Hexar RF appears to be partially
frozen. I can move the dial only the short distance between B and AEL,
and with great difficulty. I don't know whether it's the locking button
or the selector knob that is the problem. But, in any event, a repair is
in order.

Has anyone had a similar problem? And can anyone recommend a repair
facility/person?" TIA

HFL

Hi Harry,

I'm sorry for the delay in replying - I have been out of town for a
few days.

I haven't heard of your specific problem before. I would not
recommend trying to repair it yourself - the rangefinder in the Hexar
RF is especially sensitive and it is quite difficult to adjust.

I strongly recommend you to send the camera to Greg Weber. Greg has a
wealth of experience with Konica cameras generally and is an authority
on the Hexar RF. Parts are now very difficult to get - there has been
much talk of large stocks of spares being dumped by Sony - but Greg
probably has some repair cameras. As your fault is not common (as far
as I know) there is a good chance that he will be able to repair it
with parts from another camera body.

Tony,

That's very helpful. I'll be in touch with Greg today.
Thanks very much.
