Nikon CLS tutorial

Anyone know a good tutorial on CLS?

I'd like to know more but the Nikon manual is terrible.

Dunno about tutorials specifically, but I have two books on CLS:

"Nikon Creative Lighting System" by J. Dennis Thomas
This is one of the Digital Field Guide series, 204 pages, illustrated with
excellent color photos, easy to read, focuses mainly on the SB-800 and -600,
and built-in flash units in cameras with the Commander function. Does not
have anything on the new SB-900 (not out when the book was published) or the
little SB-400 (about which there isn't so much to say anyway), but does
cover the SU-800 Commander and other parts of the system, as well as some
studio accessories.

"Nikon AF Speedlight Flash System" by Simon Stafford
This is one of the Magic Lantern Guides series, 288 pages, illustrated (like
other books in this series) with rather crappy B&W photos, covers the same
flash units and also some older, pre-CLS units such as the SB-28 and
SB-80DX.

For your purposes the Thomas book is probably the better choice, though
Stafford's knowledge of all things Nikon is literally encyclopedic (he
authored a monumental work, The Nikon Compendium) and he goes into technical
details perhaps better than anyone else. The books are cheap enough (about
$13 at Amazon as I recall) that you could buy both, which at Amazon would
also give you free shipping.

I believe there is a newer book out that also covers the SB-900, but don't
recall any other details.
