The beauty of plastic...
It allows the designers to unleash their hidden potential:

For me, this would be a good reason to fire the designer. :-) The next step will be to replace the chrome speed stripe with a row of blinkenlights, or perhaps to have a red led mounted in the lenses to give a "HAL 2000" glow out the front. There's a whole new generation coming up who seem to love that kind of thing. For my generation, retrophilia seems to be a related disorder, the BMW "mini" that isn't, and VW with the motor in the wrong place good examples. |

I'd like to think though, that the real creativity is in the user and they would use their creativity through the lense rather than around it. In truth this seems a desperate ploy on the part of a product manager out of marketing ideas. |

Look what happened to Apple since they introduced their multicolor iMac G3 in 1998. -- Regards, Robert http://www.arumes.com |

Are you making any plans to jump ship? No, buying another body next weekend though, hope its not to pointy. ;-) I think what I have will keep working for a while anyway. |
