pros is not an abbreviation - not after decades of use.

A review of the Oxford, College Webster, WorldWeb, and Encarta dictionaries
does not list the word "Pros." However, the New Unabridged Twentieth Century Second Edition (a massive tome) lists the word Pros as plural to the noun Pro and provides the meaning of Pros to be: 1- A person who favors the affirmative side of some debatable question. 2- A argument in favor of something, as in pros and cons of the matter. 3- A vote for the affirmative. However, as a notation, Pros may be considered Colloquial; belonging to words, phrases, and idioms characteristic of conversation and informal writing. "Colin D" wrote in message ... One should point out punctuation to people who think that owning a 4x5
camera makes them a pro (or should that be "makes them prose"?). I'm never in a bad mood when that moron John Douglas shows up - It's fun to have an airbag or two to puncture. Can't say the same about Browne though - some airbags just emanate noxious gas, and he is one of that group. -- http://www.chapelhillnoir.com home of The Camera-ist's Manifesto The Improved Links Pages are at http://www.chapelhillnoir.com/links/mlinks00.html A sample chapter from my novel "Haight-Ashbury" is at http://www.chapelhillnoir.com/writ/hait/hatitl.html "Mark M" wrote in message news:2w6Wc.93394$Lj.76730@fed1read03...
