drive stuck
[I can't find an appropriate NG to post this, and some of you have always
been very helpful.] (Dell 2 GHz computer, Win XP) The DVD drive does not eject. At first just the eject button did not work (for a few weeks), now using "eject" in Win Explorer does not work either. (The CD R/W works fine). Any suggestions? --- Alan Justice http://home.earthlink.net/~wildlifepaparazzi/ |

Then if the unit is under warranty, get on the phone to Dell; otherwise, if you still need the drive, drop down to your local computer parts store and pick one up. In the US anyway, it should (depending on features) cost $20-50 dollars, and it'll take about 10 minutes to replace. -- Joe Makowiec http://makowiec.org/ Email: http://makowiec.org/contact/?Joe Usenet Improvement Project: http://twovoyagers.com/improve-usenet.org/ |

I keep a straightened out paper clip near the computer to eject the disk. Ken Hart |
