Is "Fujifilm" an archaic name?

Kodak had often been accused of neglecting its digital camera business, in favor of its film sales. Well, then, what does one say of Fujifilm, which includes the word "film" in the company's name? Photographic film is not the only kind of film extant. The Fujifilm web site lists the following business areas (but you need a web browser to learn this): Business Products Medical Systems Graphic Systems Photofinishing Products Motion Picture Products Optical Devices Recording Media Industrial Products Semiconductor Materials Biomaterials Fujifilm is currently the majority stakeholder in Fuji Xerox, which manufactures and distributes Xerox products for the Asian market. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm |

It is just a corporate brand name which hasn’t undermined any of its “non-film” business. http://www.fujifilmusa.com/index.html The last thing Fujifilm can be accused of is neglecting its digital camera business. -- Regards, Savageduck |

The basic unit of power is the watt.Horsepower just simplifies things for the poor farmer plowing a field with a horse drawn plow, when he is being sold a steam tractor. Would this look like 110 horses to a 19th Century farmer, who is not likely to understand 82 Kilowatts? https://s-media-cache- ak0.pinimg.com/originals/b6/a0/4e/b6a04ea181f39900f8487d70ffbd7e9f.jpg One watt is the power which in one second gives rise to one joule of energy. (that is where joule comes in) A joule has more to do with force/energy, and little to do with power other than in defining the watt. Horsepower has always been expressed in terms of watts, the number of which varies depending on whether one is refering to boiler, electrical, or mechanical energy, and is set between 736-746 W / hp. So a 200 bhp automobile should actually have an out put of 149.14 Kilowatts -- Regards, Savageduck |
