New to this group.
Where can I get plans to build a lightbox for viewing 35mm slides?

Sorry about this, but if you need plans to make a "box" you probably
shouldn't be trying to build one.

how fancy do you need?

You could go to a hardware cavern and buy a 'shop light' or other fixture
that is meant to hang over a kitchen or pool table, turn it upside down and
place a sheet of white plastic over it.

I bought a table someone built, its literally a box of 2x8 wood, with a
sheet of ply wood underneath and a sheet of plastic on top, and two shop
lights in the middle. a couple holes for ventilation. they got cleaver with
legs, they slide into a small square on each corner so I can tilt it and
remove the legs for storage.

the key concept is a sheet of white plastic with a light underneath,

check "blueprint series" by Petersen photo mag series in library, they had
lots of do it yourself items like this and other build it yourself stuff

the quickie answer is turn a fluorescent fixture upside down, put a sheet
of frosted plastic on it, there you are ;-)
