18mm shot and the bear was that large in the frame? She's lucky she
didn't get attacked!

Bears don't typically attack unprovoked. Wearing a "bear-repellent
bell" is usually enough to keep them away. They shy from confrontation
unless they're hungry and you look like food, or if you interfere with
their cubs.

And if the scat smells of pepper spray, and has bells in it, it's from
a Grizzly!

DAMN! I should have read this before I posted! :-(

It's a myth. First, it's "level" not "straight". And even the
admonition to level the horizon is mostly a myth.

A waterline meeting the horison -- O.K., we expect that should
be level. Terrain isn't usually level. The image of water meeting
a bank won't generally be level in a photograph.

Level the *camera*, on the roll axis. That may or may not level
the horizon.

In this context, I'd be surprised if anyone misunderstands.

Yes to the latter.

However, these two photos are off, one by a degree or so, the other by
about two:

Now, am I picking nits? You betcha. But ocean and bay - or large lake-
photos make me almost sea sick if the horizons aren't -ah- level. I
doubt a lot of folks would be even slightly put out by this small a
deviation.

Haha! Never heard that one before.

Agreed. I would've called that one "FINAL SHOT OF THE 350D!"

Looking at her galleries, it is amazing what one can accomplish with a
cheap body, a great lens, a lot of talent, and a little bit of
Photoshop.
My kind of girl!

But her body wasn't cheap, really, when she got it some two plus years ago.

If she'd get her horizons straight, she'd get the + after the A.

Hello, John:

You're just in love with her body. :-P
