I was going to use the iPad but iTunes refuses to copy it on the grounds that the iPad cannot process it. Reading around it seems that the 1080p _might_ be the problem. Can anyone throw any light on this? what format is the slide show? Sorry: straight out of LR 'mp4'. Depending on your TV, you may be able to pop it onto a flash drive and go to town. Will need to format flash drive into FAT 16 or maybe 32. I think ours is a bit old for that. The mp4 file of the slideshow is 6GB. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

wrote: What is "tethering" in this context? Linking the app to something else? using the phone's cellular data connection to provide a network connection to other devices, such as a laptop, typically over wifi. it's also called 'personal hotspot' because the phone is the user's own personal wifi hotspot. it's also possible to tether over usb and even bluetooth but that's not commonly done. tethering is a feature built into ios since somewhere around ios version 4, but the carrier must enable it because they claim it can use up significant amounts of data (which the user would have to pay for so that's a specious claim), but really it's because the carriers can restrict it and make you pay even more for data you're already paying for, thus the motivation to get around that restriction. when enabled, this option shows up: http://km.support.apple.com/library/...ecare/images/e n_US/iphone/iphone5c/change_wi-fi_pass.png the tethering apps provide tethering when the carrier restricts it, which is why apple doesn't allow such apps (actually the carriers insist that be pulled). since tethering apps are not allowed, some developers have taken to hiding the feature in something else, which is also not allowed. it usually slips through, but once word gets out how to enable it, it gets pulled. apple reads the same tech blogs everyone else does. |
