It's looking rather promising. I imported some photos (jpg and Lumix RAW). I'm stuck in how to get a 1:1 preview to check focus, but other aspects are looking good. Being able to basically organise stuff and have instant access via the web and LR Mobile is cool. The editing facilities are pretty cool for a web app too. This is from someone who uses Linux and does not have the facilities to run LR Classic well (Windows on a VM is painful). My only concerns (apart from not being able to find out how to do a 1:1) a Evidently, the entire workspace of LR CC is not visible on your screen. At the bottom right of the workspace there is "Fit Fill 1:1" in the row of other choices. You can click on 1:1 and move the visible part image around. Thanks. I'm not getting that. here's a screenshot (browser full screen): http://tinypic.com/r/2csf1n8/9 This is what you should see: https://photos.smugmug.com/AUE-Temp/...O/Capture2.jpg At the bottom right: Fit Fill 1:1 (icon for filmstrip on or off) (icon for original before editing) Just clear things up, Tim does not have a Windows, or macOS desktop machine. He has the Lightroom CC mobile edition on an iPad, but no desktop edition. He is currently limited to a Linux desktop, so he cannot run either Lightroom CC, or Lightroom Classic CC desktop editions. He is running the Lightroom web based app, which runs in any internet browser. That edition does not have the capability of dealing with viewing at different scale levels such as 1:1, fit, fill, or 2:1. https://www.dropbox.com/s/svoaxuzsak7odad/screenshot_210.png https://lightroom.adobe.com/ -- Regards, Savageduck |

How weird - could this be a "beta" vs "production" issue? (I'd heard there's a beta available with trial features not available in the production version?) |

How weird - could this be a "beta" vs "production" issue? (I'd heard there's a beta available with trial features not available in the production version?) No, that is not Lightroom CC on the web. That is Lightroom CC "desktop application" running on a computer. This is a screen capture of Lightroom CC as seen in a web browser at lightroom.adobe.com: https://www.flickr.com/photos/primeval/38038637231. I cannot explain the view in your browser. My shared album, a test piece, is here https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/72305aa6d3e441f89b16bdaae95457d4. AFAIK there is no beta version of Lightroom CC. I was locked in a secret underground bunker for a period as a beta tester for Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC. Visiting the super-secret beta-tester page I do not see a new beta for either application. Unless, of course, there is a double-secret underground bunker beneath the one I was in. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm |

It's either going to be a MacBook Pro (which is recently re-released) or something else. the imac pro is next, expected in a couple of months. next year will likely have refreshes to the rest of the lineup, quite possibly with a few surprises, although those who closely watch the industry have a pretty good idea of what's coming. Yep. I'm holding out with web/mobile to get my catalogue in order (never have, it's a big job). When the time comes to do some serious retouching, hopefully there will be all new choices from Apple. what's wrong with the current choices? Nothing if I went for an iPad or MacBook Pro. OTOH, a Mini might be good, if there's a decent refresh - so I'm holding out to see what happens an educated but foolproof guess is that a new Mini comes after the new Pro when that modular system hits the shelfs.
