But if guns have a habit of unpredictably exploding in the users face
or cars unpredictably turn themself off and lock the steering, then
the manufacturer will be charged/prosecuted.

and tehy do get chraged or prosecuted for such thinbgs and why Aplpe didn;t for the so called bending iPhone.

Did a bending phone hurt anyone?

Don't think so but if you bend any phone and put it in your pocket
that isn't the standard way of storing yorr phone.

[It may have if that was the cause of the fire which gave the user 3rd
degree burns on the leg.]

That could have also happend if he shorted out the connector, or put the phone in water. A few in London have had exploding phones while left on charge but they were using cheap imported chargers that were dangerous a couple of which exploded.

all phones have an area where you should not hold it. it is *not*

But Apple put it (on one iPhone) where many people instinctively took

nonsense. apple designed it where they thought it would work the best.

And it worked best where many people instictively took hold of the
phone.

it worked just fine. the entire thing was overblown.

it's also something that affects *every* phone, not just apple. you
don't hear people complaining a whole lot about other phones.

once the initial hype died down, people forgot all about it since it
wasn't really an issue n the first place.

There seems to be no limit to human ingenuity, or stupidity.
