Olympus SP-350 vs SP-500 UZ

I'm trying to decide between the new Olympus SP-350 (8 mp, 3x zoom, optical
viewfinder) and the Olympus SP-500 (6 mp, 10x zoom, EVF). I'm torn between
the higher resolution of the SP-350 and the stronger zoom on the SP-500.

I would appreciate any guidance on these models to help with my decision?

I really wanted to sneak a comment into the news today... "Hey Olympus,
Nikon just called, and they want their cameras back".

Seriously, the FE-100 and 110 look like the Coolpix 4600. The SP-310
and 350 look like the Coolpix 7900. The SP-500 is very reminiscent of
the Kodak Z7590.

Olympus wins the award for most uninspiring products of the year, with
Pentax and Sony close behind.
