Kodak DX4530 lens jammed

My Kodak DX4530 recently died and I think it has to do with the fact
that I turned it on while I had the lens cap on, and the lens got
jammed. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might be able to
fix this without resorting to buying a new camera?

If there's no mechanical damage done then usually switching off and on
resolves the issue. I can't comment on that exact model but usually
there is a security circuit that will shut off the motor when it detects
resistance.

Try removing the battery for a minute or so. That worked on my Nikon
CP-5700 when it "locked up".
