Konica Minolta A2 external flash questions

Regarding Minolta flashes ...would the wireless feature on certain
Minolta flashes work on the A2? Would I need a bracket to prevent red
eye associated with some of the more powerful flashes?

Oh, and why did you choose the Minolta A2 over the other 8 megapixel
ZLR type cameras?
